ELECTRIC RAILCAR THAWING
Electric systems utilize high-intensity Aitken infrared heaters to thaw railcars. These systems use solid state or mechanical contacts to vary the intensity of the electric heaters and control the temperature of the railcar. Demanding a large amount of power, a new utility service and power distribution equipment are often required at the thawing location.
