Container Thawing

Unlike railcar thawing, container thawing systems are standalone structures that require a container to be placed in the system. Once loaded, electric, gas, or propane infrared heaters attached to the structure turn on and transfer a large amount of heat to the container. To prevent damage to the container, the surface temperature must be closely monitored and controlled.

APEC has developed a standard ISO Container Thawer to efficiently thaw frozen ISO containers. The thawer can be customized to the user’s available utilizes and site conditions.
